Anita Ekberg

Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg (29th September 1931, Sweden) is a Swedish model and actress best known for her role in the 1960 Federico Fellini film, La Dolce Vita.

After success as a model in Sweden and going on to work as an actress in Hollywood, Ekberg was selected by Fellini to play Sylvia opposite Marcello Mastroianni. She is perhaps most remembered for the scene where she frolics in the Trevi fountain.

Fellini later cast her in three more of his films including Intervista in 1987 where she played herself in a reunion scene with Mastroianni. She said of Fellini: "It was I who made Fellini famous, not the other way around".

Personal Life

Romantically linked to Mastroianni at one point, she also had a three year affair with Fiat boss, Gianni Agnelli.

She currently lives outside Rome and appears occassionally on television talk-shows.
