Natisone

The Natisone flowing through Cividale del Friuli.

The Natisone is a river of Eastern Friuli, in north-eastern Italy. It is the main tributary of the Torre and a sub-affluent of the Isonzo.

The Natisone is formed at 415 m above sea level on the border between Friuli and Slovenia by the confluence of two streams: the Rio Bianco and the Rio Nero in the foothills of the Julian Alps.

En route to the Adriatic Sea, the river passes through:

• Cividale del Friuli where it splits the town in two and is traversed by Il Ponte del Diavolo
• San Pietro al Natisone
• Pulfero
