La Gazzetta dello Sport is a newspaper devoted to the coverage of sport. It was first published in 1896 (in time for the first modern Olympics held in Athens). It is printed on pink paper and known colloquially as La rosea. Until 1998 it was published in broadsheet format; it is now tabloid.

It has a daily circulation of about 400,000 and a daily readership of 4 million, making it the most popular newspaper in Italy. The majority of the coverage - up to 75% of the paper - is football but space is given also to other sports.

It is mostly sensationalist journalism although it has broken major scandals in the sports world, notable the 2006 Calciopoli football match rigging scandal. Published in Milan, it devotes much coverage to A.C. Milan and Inter.

The paper is owned by RCS MediaGroup and edited by Andrea Monti.
