Ruby Rubacuori
Ruby Rubacuori or Ruby Heartbreaker (Karima el-Mahroug, Karima Keyek) (1993, Morocco; 19 years old) was an profession::exotic dancer suspected of having relations with prime minister Berlusconi in 2010 when she was underage in the so-called Caso Ruby scandal.
Early Life
El-Mahroug has stated she was raped by two uncles when she was aged 9 and had a difficult childhood. Her mother found out and told her not to tell anyone lest her father kill her for no longer being a virgin. She arrived in Italy with her family in 2003, aged 10, settling in the eastern Sicilian coastal town of notableIn::Letojanni with her parents.
She also claimed that at age 12 her father threw boiling water over her when she announced she wished to convert from Islam to Catholicism.
As a youngster she became involved in petty crime and following her stealing a woman's handbag, she was sent to juvenile detention and spent time in different homes. Finally she ran away from Sicily and became an exotic dancer in a Milanese night club but has denied she was ever a prostitute.
Scandal
Berlusconi is suspected to have had sexual relations with el-Mahroug in early 2010 when she was 17. She attended a number of parties in his house in Arcore, Milan which, she admitted, ended in Bunga-Bunga. Berlusconi also reportedly paid her several thousand euro and gave her jewellery.
Some months following the events el-Mahroug was arrested for petty theft. At the police station the police received a call from Berlusconi's office who (mistakenly) reported her as the niece of President Mubarak of Egypt and they should release her to avoid a diplomatic incident. This has led to accusations of Berlusconi abusing his authority.
Personal Life
Ruby lives in Genoa and is dating 41 year old disco manager, Luca Rizzo; other reports suggest she is with 79 year old Austrian millionaire, Richard Lugner. In some reports she is said to be living in Italy illegally and seeking asylum there.
